A night in sub-zero at Rohtang Pass

Todays news report that  “hundreds ” of people  (five HRTC buses , 30 civilian vehicles and an army convoy) were forced to spend the night in subzero temperatures , waiting for the road to be cleared from yesterdays snow fall. Two feet of snow put a stop to the traffic on both sides of the pass.

Interestingly, the findings that have come up in the form of a 230-page document entitled "Fauna of Corbett Tiger Reserve has also revealed the new distributional records of seven species of fish, four species of frogs, 10 species of nematodes and seven species of butterflies, for the first time from the reserve area.
