Japs found YETI footprints
Submitted by himalayas on Sun, 08/29/2010 - 20:32The legendary abominable snowman of the Himalayas remains camera-shy, but a Japanese team has made a breakthrough, discovering what the lead researcher says are yeti footprints. "Myself and other team members have been coming to the Himalayas for years and we can recognize bear, deer, wolf and snow leopard prints and it was none of those," Yoshiteru Takahashi told AFP upon his team's return from a 6-week mission.
"The footprints were about 20 centimeters long and looked like a human's," he said of the 8-inch imprints.
Mansarover Tragedy- Gambling with human lives.
Submitted by himalayas on Wed, 06/10/2009 - 08:33Recent reports are that 10 casualties had been reported from Mansarovar trek in Tibet. Pilgrimage which turns into nightmare because all these people were not acclimatized. Many websites lure people into high altitude trekking but fails to educate them because this is big money business.
India also operates Mansarovar trek but alhtough expensive- Indian govt. take care of all these factors because whole operation is gov.by army and para-military forces. This is strange that with 10 people died and more than 100 are stranded mid-way- there is still no rescue done. This means with every passing moment more lives are into danger line.
This is famous problem of India that rescue is either paid by teams or some high-placed govt. official has to order it. Now how can govt. move it's craft because some agency created this situation for them. No one thinks about lives- and by the time, RED BUTTON will be pressed more lives will be on gamble table.

Mumbai attack- What India should do ?
Submitted by himalayas on Wed, 12/03/2008 - 19:15Politicians knows that crowd showing unity can be desprsed with ease because it is very easy for them to divide and rule. They know this will not be the scene tomorrow that whole mumbai will be coming back to GOI.
What I think is..
1. India should either attack PAK or there should be military rule OR military+ civil rule in India, we can manufacture the module.
2. We can advocate that CONGRESS should be punshied- but BJP is worse than CONGRESS. What should a voter do ? I think under no corcumstances anyone from these parties should rule India.
3. This is high time when we should have THIRD FRONT in politics. A party which could have some ideals...some young blood, some thinkers, visionaries.
Hope this will reach to the core !
Kashmiris to have registration in Himachal Pradesh
Submitted by himalayas on Sun, 11/30/2008 - 11:00With the Mumbai terrorist attacks being a wake up call to one and all, the state governemnt has decided to re-establish all police posts along the inter-state borders, which had been withdrawn, especially in view of the fact that Himachal is a popular tourist destination for foreigners.
With the safety of tourists, especially foreigners being the prime concern of the governemnt, it has been decided that checking and surveillance would be intensified to ensure that no suspicious and anti-social elements sneak into the state by taking advantage of a relaxed security set up along the border areas which at present are highly porous.
