  1. Yeah, you can but climbing Stok Kangri is not just walking up the hill. It depends not only on individual fitness but it’s also a test for determination, if you are new to climbing.

Anything above 5000m is serious business for human body and mind. Because not only body comes under tremendous pressure , mind also puts itself into test for objective and judgment and analysis + courage to achieve that.

You have to each Manali- which is only possible by road as air route via KULLU is always uncertain. After Manali- you will either travel by private vehicle, shared or fully chartered…Or can take Bus for Leh. It’s two days journey.

You will be traveling through Keylong, Darcha, Surchu to Leh valley. And this journey goes through Indian himalayas second highest motorable pass- TANGLANGLA which is 17k + pass.

Now- all this travel from low sea level to such high altitudes are gonna take it’s cost as acclimatization which is ‘adjustment of body with low oxygen ‘ most important factor in any travel, stay in such atmosphere…leave alone trekking and climbing.

So, drinking lot of water, staying away from drugs, smoke and alcohol and above all- keep small walks …may result in helping you to be fit to walk in streets of Leh without being out of breath.

Staying for 1-2 days in Leh and walking around is always recommended and it’s fruits are realized later when you are in remote and struggling hard to gain height …step by step !

Thus starts, your journey for Stok Kangri which is seen dominating on horizon from Leh itself. A jeep ride can take you to Stok Village and from here your expedition for this peaks starts.

Base camp can be reached in 1-2 days, depending on how one takes it. And a rest day at BC is always suggested. Next day, you start your attempt with your guide- early in morning…in dark as early as 1-2-3’0 clock in dark !!!

Rest of the sage is of experience – so, I left this pace to write your’s .
